I love to draw.
When I was a child
all I wanted to do was stay up all night long
and draw pictures.
45 years later,
not much has changed..
except sometimes I am holding
a paintbrush instead of a pencil.

Love your Still Life and I can so relate to wanting to draw all the time as a kid! 💕🎨 The difference for me is that I get positive feedback now. This means so much! 😍

In my next life I’m going to be an artist. Oh yes, and be able to sing.

Yes! I so adore this piece! Many of us had a wonder and passion for drawing as children….where does it go? Maybe something like a night spirit who robs it from us in our sleep or something? Or maybe something more like the Grinch, except instead of stealing Christmas, it is stealing our ability to draw blissfully.
Thank you for this!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, missyjean! Reminds me of that quote by Pablo Picasso – “Every child is an artist.. the problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”
I like your idea of the Art-Grinch… because, like Christmas, that means the wonder and passion for drawing can not be stolen.. it’s inside us and we just need to find it again 🙂
