Saving one animal won’t change the world, but it will change the world for that one animal.
A few weeks ago, Richard and I heard the terrible cries of a kitten in distress.
It cried non-stop for days.
No mother cat came..
there were no other kittens.
The poor animal was alone.
It was heartbreaking.. that relentless, terrified squeaking.
The cries seemed to be coming from underneath the foundation of the house next door. We crawled around outside and all over our neighbor’s property looking for the tiny animal, but could not find it anywhere. Defeated and miserable, my husband prayed to God to help that kitten.
That night, Richard’s prayer was answered.. but not in the way we expected. Miraculously, the little days-old creature had managed to crawl into our backyard! When the little thing heard the sound of my voice, it wiggled up to my foot, crying desperately.
To make a long story short, we rescued the little guy.
Sometimes, the difference between life and death
is you.
That’s how our cats were found! An acquaintance found both kittens underneath a house. No mom. They’ve brought pure joy and affection for five years now.
Good for you!

Thank you for sharing your story, Sharon! Our cat Motorhead was also a rescue kitty — we found him crying and hiding under the hood of my husband’s van! My sister fell in love with this little guy and adopted him! She is a huge fan of The Hobbit, so kitty’s new name is Bilbo Baggins 🙂

Thank you for helping that kitten! You are so right that we can’t save or help everything or everyone who needs it. But you saved that kitten, and sometimes, that’s enough!

AWesome! Bilbo. Lol. Cute. Feels great too in your heart of hearts. God takes care of all animals. No doubt he put you guys in this cats path and the cat will return ten fold the love you give to him. God bless! I need to put Freedoms story on my blogs. My son n I rescued a bird that fell from its nest two years ago during a bad fourth of July storm. We returned him to the wild where he deserves to be. Still comes here to eat. 🙂
